At the time, like many youths interested in sports, John Nolan started out playing baseball in the spring, soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter. It wasn't until a friend sparked a conversation that led to the discussion of playing lacrosse. Nolan wasn't familiar with the sport and opened the Encyclopedia Britannica to find out more information.
Now, Nolan is a 29-year old lacrosse enthusiast who was recently named the head coach at South County High School for the upcoming season. He still has the lacrosse page in the encyclopedia he bookmarked as a child, and has committed it to memory.
