Once the sun went down May 5 in Sterling, the Briar Woods boys lacrosse team quickly erased an early three-goal deficit. The Falcons went on to defeat host Potomac Falls 17-5, completing an undefeated regular season in the Dulles District.
“I think we came out a little tight. Quite frankly, I couldn’t even see the field with that sun, so I think they had a little trouble with that,” Briar Woods coach Pat Brown said.
The somewhat sluggish start is not the norm for this Falcons team, but it did not last long.
