While Osborne Park might have come on strong at the beginning of the game on Senior Day at Annandale High School on Saturday, Apr. 30, that early goal was their fleeting moment of glory. The Atoms proceeded to dominate the entire game on a brilliant sunny day as 13 graduating seniors culminated their regular season lacrosse career on the field.
Nine of the seniors have been playing together since their youth lacrosse days, and the trust they gained from those early years was apparent today.
The brothers Lalande were relentless in attacking their cousin (goalie for Osborne Park) as the two: senior Nick Lalande and sophomore Zach Lalande combined for six of the 16 Atoms goals. Alec Villafanna had a breakout performance at face-off winning 14 face-off opportunities and was aided by the other deadly brother combination senior Nate (committed to West Point) and junior Ryan Miller at middie and attack.
