Annandale’s Emma Barker kicked off a night of milestones for both the boys and girls lacrosse teams, recording her 500th career save in the second half of a 19-2 win over Lee on Friday in the opening round of the Patriot District tournament. Paige Britton led the way on offense with five goals, and Katie Vu added four goals and three assists.
The Atoms wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Mackenzie Wright scored 10 seconds into the game, and Esra Gokturk followed with another mark 22 seconds later. After the Lancers’ Carly Martin cut the deficit in half, Vu kept finding herself completely alone in front of the crease for three straight goals. Annandale led 11-1 before Martin notched her second goal, but it was all Atoms the rest of the way.
