For the W.T. Woodson’s girls’ lacrosse team, 2011 had been filled with various ups and downs en route to a 9-7 regular season record.
But just in time for the Patriot District playoffs everything clicked.
“We’re playing our best lacrosse right now,” said head coach Meaghan O’Leary.
A gritty defensive effort, combined with an offense that made the most of its opportunities, helped the Cavaliers prevail it their semifinal match against Annandale High School, which ended in double overtime after Taylor Scott scored to make it 13-12.
