Victoria Vinall might be the only lacrosse player on the W.T. Woodson High School girls' team that can claim to have played two rookie seasons -- one as a freshman and one as first-year goaltender in her sophomore year.
At the start of the 2010 campaign, Vinall stepped up to fill a hole in the team's goaltending depth chart despite never having played the position exclusively.
"My freshman year I played in the field, but in my sophomore year we needed someone to take over the job," she said. "I decided to switch to goalie and give it a shot."
