Although all screens on NOVALacrosse.com are public, you must have an account to comment on articles, flag or favorite comments, submit scores and game summaries. Additionally, your account will get you access to NOVALacrosse.com online newsletters, vendor specials and other important announcements through email.
The create account screen is displayed when you click "Create Account" at the top of any page or the link in the Log in screen.
The first screen asks you if you are over the age of 13 or not. If you are under 13 you can create an account but the account will not be activated until your parents mail back a completed form that you will receive in email.
Please be aware that if you are under 13 and you answer this question incorrectly we will eventually discover this and this could lead to a banning of your account and any accounts from the IP addresses you use to access NOVALacrosse.com
User name - Enter a user name that is at least 3 characters and not more than 25 characters. When you complete this screen the system will test for existance and let you know if it is already taken.
E-mail Address - This is the email address that will be used by the system to send you notices as well as help you recover your account in the event you forget your user name or password. This must be a valid email in order for you to receive the verification link needed to activate and use the account.
Confirm E-mail Address - Re-enter your email. This step helps prevent typos.
Password - Enter the password you wish to use on this account. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long and no more than 25 characters. You can use numbers as well as letters and symbols. Note that passwords are case sensitive so you must type it exactly the same way when you log in with upper and loser case letters.
Confirm Password - Re-enter your password. This step helps prevent typos.
Gender - Entering your gender will help us auto navigate some of the features when gender specific information is being requested.
Zip code - Zip code will help us auto naviate some of the features when location specific information is being requested.
Year of Birth - We use this to validate that your over 13 as well as using it as an added security feature if needed for you to identify yourself to the system.
Lacrosse Group - Identifying yourself to one of the specific lacrosse groups will help us to target information that may be deemed more important to you.
Primary Lacrosse Interest - Identifying yourself to one of the specific lacrosse interests will help us to target information that may be deemed more important to you.
The next set of check boxes are for you to opt in to various email lists that are provided by NOVALacrosse.com. The default is that you are not signed up for any of these so please check the ones you are interested in here.
Note that you can change these in the My Account screen if you change your mind later.
NOVA Lacrosse Monthly Newsletter - NOVA Lacrosse will be providing a monthly newsletter in email with news and information linked back to the website as well as special offers from our sponsors.
Daily Digital Digest of NOVA Lacrosse News and Blogs - At the end of every day a summary of news added to the site that day will be emailed to you with links back to the site.
Camp & Clinic Scheduling Announcements - When new caps or clinics are added to the calendar we will send out these announcements with links back to the website.
League Scheduling Announcements - As game postponements and cancellations come in we will forward them to you in email.
Select Team Tryout Announcements - When select teams announce their try-out schedules we will send them to yoy as well.
General NOVA Lacrosse Announcements - From time to time we will be sending announcements that are not related to the other categories.
Sponsor Promotions - Check the boxes of sponsor promotions you will be interested in. We will be working with our sponsors to help them tell you about their promotions and sales.
After completing your account form you will click the Submit Registration button. The system will re-display your information to give you the opportunity to go back and make changes or move forward with the account registration.
NOTE That if you entered a user name that is already taken the system will tell you this and make you re-enter a new user name before moving on. Confirmation of Registration - if all the information looks good then enter the confirmation code provided to you at the bottom of the screen and submit your reistration.
If your account submittal is succesful the following screen will be displayed giving you some initial instruction. In addition, you will be emailed a welcome message with a link that you must click to activate the account. Clicking this link validates that the email address you entered is a correct and valid email address associated with the new account.
You will not be able to login until you receive the email and click the activation link. If you do not recieve the email please contact us and we will help you manually set up the account.
Also note that if you are under 13 the email sent to you will contain a form that you must print out and have your parents sign and mail to the address provided before your account can be activated.
