All articles have comments associated with them. Comments are the community discussion at NOVALacrosse.com.
In order to comment on an article you must have an account and be logged in to the site.

If you are not logged in the comment area will contain a login screen for your convenience. You can log in here and be returned to this article.
Once you are logged in the default text box will be displayed.
Adding a new comment
The comment section contains a default text entry box (if you are logged in) to type in your comment. Creating a comment here will post a new top level comment to the discussion for this article.
Replying to a comment
If you wish to reply to a current comment on the article click the
Reply link for that comment. The system will then display the text box at that area to add the comment reply.
Using the Comment Editor
Simply start typing in the text box provided. The default size and font will be used. If you want to add emphasis to your comment you can use the style buttons provided by the editor.
Note that in order for these formatting features to work you must select the text using your mouse before clicking. Also, for adding links and smilies the cursor must be in the text box.;I>
- Bold - Select the text you want to bold then click the B at the top of the text box.
- Italics - Select the text you want to italicize then click the I at the top of the text box.
- Underline - Select the text you want to underline then click the U at the top of the text box.
Strike - Select the text you want to strike then click the abc at the top of the text box.
There are also icons for creating
Ordered lists,
Un-ordered lists, changing the text color, adding smilies and creating links to other websits.
Submitting the Comment
When you click the
Post Comment the comment will be posted and will be in pending status. All comments are put through a banned word and phrase filter before as they are posted. The pending status means that the comment has not been reviewed by a system admin but will still be viewable by the public.
If a comment is deamed inappropiate it will be removed.

Flag Comments - all comments that are in pending state can be flagged. If 3 members of the community (not the same members) flag an account it will be temporarily disabled and unviewable until the system administrator reviews the comment.
Favorites - all comments (pending or otherwise) can be added to a user's favorites (you must be logged in for this). Users can see a list of their favorites in their
My Account screen. This feature helps you monitor discussions that you are interested in.

Permlink - This is a direct link to the comment that can be used to zoom into only that discussion within the comments of the article. This helps give you a link that can be emailed for easy reference.
